How to type T with accent on every device
Which t with accent you need decides the fastest route. The Czech ť and Romanian ț are the common ones. Here is how to enter them on every device, using ť as the example.
Windows, ALT code
Num Lock on. Hold Alt, type the number, release. Alt 0357 gives ť; Alt 0539 gives the Romanian ț. The full t with accent alt code list is in the table below.
Windows, Word (Alt+X)
Type the hex and press Alt + X: 0165 then Alt + X gives ť. For the thorn þ, use 00FE then Alt + X.
Windows, emoji & symbol panel
Press Win + ., open the Symbols tab, and click the character.
Mac, Option / hold key
For the thorn, Option + t gives þ. For ť and ț, press and hold the t key and pick from the accent menu, or use the Character Viewer.

Typing T with accent on different language keyboards
The marked T forms belong to Czech, Slovak, Romanian and Icelandic, and their keyboards carry them as real letters.
Czech & Slovak keyboards
These layouts make ť (t-caron) with a dead caron key then t, or a dedicated key. It is a softened, palatal T, as in Czech ťava (camel).
Romanian keyboard
Romanian uses the comma-below ț for a “ts” sound, as in București (Bucharest) and țară (country). A Romanian layout gives it a dedicated key. The older cedilla form ţ is being replaced by the correct comma form ț.
Icelandic keyboard (for þ)
Icelandic has a dedicated þ (thorn) key. Thorn spells the “th” in Þór (Thor) and is a genuine letter, not a marked T, even though it can look like one.
US-International keyboard (English speakers)
This layout does not make ť or ț directly, so for a one-off the ALT code or the copy grid above is the quickest way to get a t with accent.

ť, t with caron
The soft T. ť is Czech and Slovak, a palatalised “ty” sound, as in ťava (camel) and šťastný (happy). The caron sits over the letter, though in lowercase it often looks like a small apostrophe attached to the t.
ț, t with comma below
ț is Romanian, pronounced “ts”, and it is everywhere in the language, from țară (country) to the capital București. The correct modern form uses a comma below; you may also see the older cedilla version ţ in legacy text.
þ, thorn (a letter, not an accented t)
þ is thorn, an Icelandic letter that spells the “th” in Þór (Thor) and það (it). It survives from Old English too. It looks a little like a t with a loop, but it is its own letter with its own history, worth knowing so you do not mistake it for an accented t.
ṫ, ṭ and the dotted forms
The dot-above ṫ comes from old Irish spelling; the dot-below ṭ is used in Sanskrit and Semitic transliteration for a retroflex or emphatic t. Both, and the line-below ṯ, are copyable above, so every accented t is in one place.
