Typing H with accent on different language keyboards

Maltese keyboard
On a Maltese layout, ħ (the h with stroke) is a dedicated letter. It stands for a strong “h” made deep in the throat, as in ħobż (bread) and ħmar (donkey). It is one of Maltese's distinctive letters, alongside ċ, ġ and ż.
Esperanto (for ĥ)
Esperanto uses ĥ (h-circumflex) for a “ch”-like sound as in Scottish “loch”. Since keyboards lack it, Esperantists often type “hx” and convert.
Physics (h-bar)
The similar character ℏ, pronounced “h-bar”, is the reduced Planck constant in quantum mechanics. It is a different Unicode character from Maltese ħ, but looks nearly identical, which is why the two get mixed up.
Transliteration

ħ, h with stroke (the Maltese h-bar)
The main marked H. ħ, the h with stroke (or h with bar), is a full letter of Maltese, where it spells a strong “h” made high in the throat, as in ħobż (bread). It corresponds to the “heth” of Arabic and Hebrew, since Maltese is a Semitic language written in Latin script. Lowercase ħ is also the IPA symbol for that same sound.
ĥ, h with circumflex
ĥ belongs to Esperanto, standing for a “ch” sound like Scottish “loch”. It is one of the rarer Esperanto letters, so writers often type “hx” and convert it.
ℏ, the physics h-bar
You will often see ℏ in equations: it is the reduced Planck constant, said “h-bar”, used throughout quantum mechanics. It is a separate Unicode character from Maltese ħ but looks almost the same, so the two are frequently confused.
